Over the years we have answered all types of questions in relation to natural and man made work surfaces. below are just a few examples of what we get asked on a day to day basis.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us on 01482 217671 or simply fill out the form at the bottom of the page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

The general rule of thumb is to use 30mm thick worktops in kitchens and 20mm in bathrooms. Upstands and splashbacks are usually made from 20mm thick material. It is possible to go for a 20+20mm edge, thereby giving the impression of a 40mm thick stone (a narrow piece of 20mm is glued on to the underside of the 20mm slab along the edge). This tends to be more expensive than 30mm due to the work involved.

We can produce most edge profiles from the classic pencil round to the elaborate New York edge. Tell us which one you prefer when you send your plan to us for a quotation. Again, the rule of thumb is that upstands and splashbacks only need a Flat Polish. The rest is up to you.

Yes please, we need to template directly on top of the units so please have them loosened or removed. You can put them back after we have templated until we fit the new ones. Likewise, sinks, taps and hobs should all be disconnected before our templater arrives.
It is best if you are there when we template to answer any questions we might have. The same goes for fitting, so that you can confirm that you are happy with the finished product.
No – this needs to be done before templating. Tiling should be done after the worktop has been installed.
To enable us to template for Granite and Quartz worktops we ask our customers to ensure the following:

Existing worktops must be removed
Sinks and hobs must be disconnected and removed
All base units must be fixed in their final position and be perfectly level
New appliances – sinks, hobs, taps, etc must be available for the templater to check
Please note cut out dimensions will not necessarily provide enough information for accurate positioning.

Heavy range cookers must be fixed in their final position prior to templating. All other range cookers will preferably be fitted in position. If this is not possible accurate overall width, height, and depth dimensions can be provided.
Any information not available to the templater at the time will in most cases delay the manufacturing of the new worktops.

Yes we will, once all your units are in place.
Yes, in fact we recommend that you come and see the materials as they do vary from block to block. If we don’t have your prefered Granite in stock you can visit our local suppliers based in Sheffield and Rotherham, there you can hand pick and reserve your chosen material.(appointments on request) Our showroom is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm and Saturdays 9.00am till 12.30pm. No, a sketch will do, as long as it gives the dimensions and details of any cut-outs you want. Send it or fax it to us and we will send your quote by return (usually same day).
